About the project

Micron’s domestic manufacturing investments will help ensure U.S. leadership in memory development and manufacturing, underpinning a national supply chain and R&D ecosystem.

In New York, Micron plans to invest in up to four fabs, to be built over the next 20-plus years with potential investment up to $100 billion.

This includes up to $6.4 billion in CHIPS Act direct funding to support the construction of two Idaho fabs and two New York fabs, as well as the expansion and modernization of its Virginia fab. The state of New York has also made up to $5.5 billion available in GREEN CHIPS incentives over the life of the project.

Micron Community Week: Progress with purpose

This spring, Central New York came together for Micron's inaugural Community Week, a series of free events held March 30–April 3 that brought our commitment to education, workforce pathways, and community support to life. From hands-on STEM activities for students and families, to info sessions on construction and trades career pathways, a tech talk spotlighting Micron at the intersection of AI, community volunteering, and STEM Fest at the MOST, the week was packed with opportunities for all. We're grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this milestone moment a memory to build on.

Check out our Community Week blog for a full recap and stay tuned on what's next.
