The Micron Foundation's primary focus is to provide access to STEM education for all.

The Micron Foundation supports a range of eligible nonprofit and academic organizations. 

Yes. We prioritize giving near Micron site communities in Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States. 

The Micron Foundation has no single physical office. It is incorporated in the State of Idaho, in the United States and has team members based at Micron sites around the globe.

The Micron Foundation identifies partners in our site communities through grassroots efforts and other partner interactions. We do not currently accept unsolicited funding proposals or requests.

Micron supports these types of organizations through our employee giving program. The Micron Foundation matches team member contributions dollar-for-dollar to qualified causes registered in the Benevity Causes portal. Team members can donate directly via the Micron Gives platform or submit receipts for donations to be matched within the fiscal year they are made.

No. Our funding supports eligible nonprofit organizations and academic institutions, not individuals directly. 

Through our Rapid Response funding, we provide timely grants and in-kind support to nonprofits delivering critical relief. We also match team member donations via the Micron Gives platform. Our support focuses on communities where Micron team members live and work.

We use several funding tools, all run through a single, centralized process to track results and practice consistent governance.

  • Grants – made to nonprofits, educational institutions and certain public entities, primarily for STEM education and workforce pathways. 
  • Community Impact Grants (CIG) – participatory, team member–informed grants. 
  • Sponsorships – corporate funding that supports community events and conferences. 
  • In-kind contributions – donations of IT equipment, semiconductor tools, and furniture. 
  • Rapid response – grants for natural disaster response and other crises near the places Micron operates.
