Annual internship cycle

There are specific times for applying, visiting and participating in an internship.

Application period​
Applications are open from August through March with most roles being filled by the end of January. Once positions are filled, the postings are removed from our site.

Campus and virtual events​
Our managers and recruiters are meeting with intern and new college grad candidates; these visits and events happen September – March.

Internship program​
Our internship program runs from May through August, with students actively working at one of our Micron sites during this period.

Interview tips

Be ready to explain your experiences, challenges and outcomes, especially for technical or project-based work.​

Expect behavioral questions (“Tell me about a time … ”) and technical assessments depending on the role. Brush up on coding, reasoning or core concepts.​

Micron interviews are often virtual. Test your tech, dress professionally and find a quiet space.​

Generic answers won’t stand out. Share real stories that show your initiative, teamwork and problem-solving.​

Yes, all internships at Micron are paid.

Our teams participate in campus events across the country to share information about internships and entry-level roles. The schools we visit in person vary each year, but even if we don’t make it to your campus, you’re still encouraged to apply and will be fully considered for available opportunities.

Yes, for internships Micron provides options for both housing and transit. All interns (regardless if you are local or not) can opt in to intern housing. Relocation is for non-local students only. For new graduate positions, we typically offer a lump sum amount based on distance from the work location.

Yes, but be sure you meet the criteria for each role and tailor your resume to the specific position. Micron offers a wide range of opportunities across various business units, so aligning your experience with the role’s requirements will help your application stand out.

Deadlines vary depending on the role, but we recommend applying as soon as you identify a position you are interested in. Most internships are posted in late August, and some additional openings may open in January. We are most active in filling internship positions in the fall and continue to recruit for new college grad roles year-round.

Be sure to showcase any leadership roles and volunteer work you've participated in.

We conduct interviews in various formats, including on-campus, phone, in-person and virtual. Interview content may include both technical and behavioral questions. Technical questions typically focus on your completed coursework and problem-solving abilities.
