With Micron’s decision to sell the Lehi site, I stayed in Lehi during the transition to Texas Instruments in October 2021. While with Texas Instruments, I held a similar job role to my time at Micron, focusing on transferring in TI’s technology for the Dry Etch area to start high volume manufacturing.
I returned to Micron in May 2022 in the TD Manufacturing Development Engineering group as a Dry Etch process engineer, continuing to focus on technology transfers between Micron sites.
In returning to Micron, I brought a new perspective on technology transfers and product life cycle management.
I came back to Micron after being contacted by a former colleague about a job opening. I had kept in touch with this colleague after leaving and they were aware that I was looking for new opportunities. Having not necessarily wanted to leave Micron in the first place, I was excited to have an opportunity to return to a company that I had enjoyed working for and a culture that I was familiar with.
Since I wasn’t away from Micron for very long, I haven’t noticed much change in Micron since I left.
Over the years I have spent with Micron I have noticed a shift towards a more values-based culture, focus on a growth mindset and improving work life balance which has created a more positive work environment for all.
With the outlook for the memory market and Micron’s current expansion plans there’s the potential for lots of opportunities to take a second look at Micron.
In TI, I was working as Director of Product Integration Engineering
I returned to Micron, India in April’ 2022. Currently, I am working as the Director, GEL ApaC R1 and the Customer Event India Head
The time I spent in TI was very short (3 months). TI was working on Logic/Analog IC’s and gave me a good understanding of Analog/Logic manufacturing and integration challenges.
Micron has always given me great challenges to work on in collaboration with great people, which in turn led to great career opportunities. I believed I would have a strong career path at Micron and decided to come back. For this, I had to move to Micron India, which is a new and upcoming site, which will have lot of challenges to work on and opportunities to grow as a leader.
As I mentioned, I was only out of Micron for a brief time, which was not enough to pick out significant differences.
Micron is making great strides to reinvent its culture. Micron is putting its people first, giving back to the community and differentiating itself as a technology leader in the market. It is also investing in its leaders so that we are prepared and have the resources to be the culture vanguards for Micron. Combined, we have a strong platform to become the best memory manufacturer.
Have a growth mindset and always try to reinvent yourself by challenging yourself to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Invest in continuous learning and treat people with empathy. Success will follow you.
