Micron has led the QLC market, and with Micron 2600 SSD powered by Micron G9 QLC NAND, we have done it again.

The Micron 2600 NVMe™ SSD is an innovative storage solution for PC OEMs, leveraging the industry's first ninth-generation QLC NAND. With innovative features like Micron Adaptive Write Technology™ (AWT) and intelligent read look-ahead, it offers the top-notch performance of 7.2 GB/s sequential read and unparalleled user experience with the highest PCMark® 10 score for a PCIe Gen4 SSD in the value segment. The Micron 2600 performs up to 63% faster sequential write and 49% faster random write speeds compared to not only competing QLC SSDs but also TLC SSDs.

The Micron 2600 is now shipping to PC OEMs in 22x30mm, 22x42mm and 22x80mm sizes, with capacities from 512GB to 2TB. Its compact form factors and single-sided design make it ideal for handheld devices, ultrathin laptops and workstations. For example, the compact 2TB, 22x30mm form factor is ultrasmall and high-capacity for use in limited-space designs such as handheld gaming devices.

Performance enhancements: The Micron 2600 improves data access, along with read and write speeds, leading to quicker boot times, faster application launch times and enhanced system responsiveness. Reduced OS image installation time ensures more efficient manufacturing processes and fast commercial PC drive imaging for IT departments.

AI PC applications: Storage performance contributes to advancements in AI-driven applications. The Micron 2600’s fast read access allows AI models to be loaded quickly, enabling smooth transitions between tasks.

User experience: AWT helps ensure active data is stored optimally in the SSD, resulting in smoother performance for content creation, casual gaming and everyday computing. In PCMark® 10 testing, the Micron 2600 achieved up to 44% better scoring and 43% better bandwidth compared to competitive value TLC SSDs. This score underscores the effective user experience provided by the Micron 2600.

Innovation to push the limits

AWT uses an industry-first multitiered SLC, TLC and QLC dynamic caching architecture to improve sequential write speeds that enrich the QLC user experience. It enables you to write in an enhanced speed mode for an extended duration, thus reducing the time to write files up to 40% the size of the drive by 75%. This reduction means you can write up to 800GB continuously in a 2TB drive in one-fourth the time any competing SSD takes.

These innovations improve productivity and daily use for both an enterprise IT user and an everyday PC user. With enhanced caching, you can reduce the time to deploy large OS images, render and save files faster, enable quicker backups and even install your games much faster. With growing requirements for storage capacity due to AI-powered applications in our everyday use, low-latency storage is critical for value class SSDs, both QLC and TLC.

Powered by cutting-edge NAND for an unmatched user experience

The Micron 2600 is the first SSD shipping with a 2Tb NAND die package and a G9 QLC NAND. The cutting-edge six-plane NAND architecture of the 2Tb Micron G9 QLC NAND allows for higher degrees of parallelism and increases read and write commands issued to the NAND simultaneously to improve performance. With speeds up to 3.6 GB/s, the Micron 2600 offers the fastest NAND I/O rate now shipping in a client SSD.
