The Intel and Micron collaboration prioritizes and enables best-in-class user experiences across key client and data center platforms. Together we validated the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor family with Micron DDR51,2 and storage technologies which enable our customers – from client to cloud – to quickly and efficiently generate insights from data.
1 Micron DDR5 RDIMM 16/32/64 GB densities validated November 2022.
2 Micron DDR5 RDIMM 24/48/96 GB densities validated April 2023.
1 Benchmarks were performed by Micron’s Data Center Workload Engineering (DCWE) team in collaboration with Intel. DDR4 and DDR5 systems populated with 64GB RDIMMs in a one DIMM per channel (1DPC) configuration for a total of 1TB. Both systems were configured using the same software stack Alma Linux 9 (Kernel 5.14).
Micron DDR5 in a 2-socket Dell PowerEdge server with 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8480H processors outperformed 4- and even 8-socket servers with DDR4 and 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8380 processors. World record performance achieved using Micron DDR5 in a Dell PowerEdge R760 server testing standardized benchmarks for SAP HANA® workloads for dataset sizes 2.6, 3.9 and 6.5 billion records.
Micron’s complete portfolio of DDR5 memory is fully validated and available for 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable platforms and raises the bar for data center reliability and compatibility while dramatically increasing overall memory bandwidth, unlocking more compute power per processor, and accelerating workloads.
Micron DDR5 delivers impressive performance with 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors using Intel® Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) with gains over seven times for AI workloads.
Supported by Intel, the Micron 9400 SSD sets a new performance standard for PCIe® Gen4 storage. It delivers exceptional performance that surpasses other leading competitors and improves power efficiency.
