Got questions?

A Registered Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce. Enabling individuals to obtain paid work experience, receive progressive wage increases and a portable, nationally recognized credential.

Apprentices can complete the program in as little as 18 months, but have up to three years to complete the required related technical instruction (RTI) and on-the-job training (OJT) hours.

RTI stands for related technical instruction, and our Idaho RTI provider is College of Western Idaho. OJT stands for on-the-job training, which is the hands-on industry experience apprentices receive while working as a technician in our fab.

You must complete 216 hours of RTI and 2,746 hours of OJT to complete the apprenticeship program.

Our program sponsor, Idaho Manufacturing Alliance (IMA), has selected College of Western Idaho as our current RTI provider for the state of Idaho. Apprentices must be planning to be or currently enrolled in CWI’s Mechatronics AAS/AS degree program.

Yes, Micron offers competitive compensation with progressive wage increases throughout the duration of the program.

No, you must be a high school graduate or have earned your GED in order to qualify for our apprenticeship program.

While we can’t always guarantee acceptance. Having earned dual college credits in Mechatronics while attending high school can increase your chances of being accepted into our apprenticeship program after graduation.
