Enriching communities where we live and work

We enrich our communities by empowering team members to give, matching their donations, providing paid time to volunteer across many forms of service, and funding rapid response support when crises hit near Micron site communities.

Team member volunteering

Our volunteer program is diverse, flexible and purpose-driven. We promote activities that connect team member interests with community needs. Team member volunteerism spans individual and group activities, skills-based volunteering like nonprofit board service, and global campaigns like Micron’s annual Star Light Festival.

Volunteer opportunities big and small

Micron supports team members with a portfolio of volunteering options:

  • Individual and group activities
  • On-site or in the community
  • Single occurrence or recurring
  • In-person or virtual
  • Skills-based
  • Environmental clean ups and tree planting
  • Collections and drives

Board service and skills-based volunteering

One of the types of skills-based volunteering that Micron supports is board service. Micron team members who serve on nonprofit boards have opportunities to both apply their skillsets to solve big challenges as well as support their professional and leadership development. Similarly, we support employees in deepening their AI acumen by providing opportunities to mentor students, teachers, and nonprofit leaders in AI literacy.

Team member giving

Micron empowers team members to support the causes they care about through its Matching Gifts Program, which matches eligible charitable donations dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 USD (or local currency equivalent) annually per team member.

Community impact grants program

Our AI-powered Community Impact Grants (CIG) program invites team members to nominate local nonprofits for Micron Foundation funding. This participatory grantmaking approach empowers team members, broadens and diversifies our social impact partner sourcing, contributes to our culture of inclusion and aligns with our shared value strategy of creating measurable outcomes through collaboration.
