Secure Mobility VPN Client

Secure Mobility Client VPN (Virtual Private Network)

The Secure Mobility Client VPN (virtual private network) is the connection software that is used, primarily on Micron-owned and managed laptops, at Micron. Be sure that you have met the requirements listed in the Prerequisites section of the Getting Started tab before performing the steps below to get connected to Micron via Secure Mobility Client VPN.

Installation Information

  • The VPN client is installed automatically on all Micron-managed laptops and is available for use. If you are using a Micron-managed laptop, and for some reason, you do not have the Secure Mobility Client VPN installed on your system, use Setup @ Micron (SAM) to request it. Or, if you are not physically located at a Micron site, you can download and install the standalone client package from this web site. See the specific instructions below as they pertain to the operating system you are using.
  • If you are using a non-Micron managed laptop, you can download and install the standalone client package from this web site. See the specific instructions below as they pertain to the operating system you are using.
  • If you are using any kind of mobile device (Micron-managed or not), you can download the Secure Mobility Client VPN from the app store selection on your device. See the specific instructions below as they pertain to the operating system you are using. Note: When the VPN is connected data and battery-life are consumed. You can also enroll in Micron’s EMM program.

IMPORTANT: There are a limited number of Secure Client licenses available and Citrix is still the preferred method for connecting to Micron remotely when using a non-Micron managed system.

Linux/Unix Users: Download and install the Secure Client standalone package directly to your Nix system:

  1. 64-bit:

    • De-archive the .tz file to a directory. For example: ~/Downloads
From a terminal, run the vpn_install.sh file as super user. Currently, the vpn_install.sh file is in the binaries sub-directory. For example, if the tz file was de-archived to the ~/Downloads directory, run a command similar to the following:
sudo ~/Downloads/anyconnect-predeploy-linux-644.204039-k9/binaries/vpn_install.sh. After successful installation of the package, open the Secure Mobility Client software that is now available from the applications menu (Dash on Ubuntu).
