Diversity and Inclusion

At Micron, our people are our most important resource and a critical driver of our competitive advantage. We believe our best innovation springs from our team members' diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. We are passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive environment, representative of our communities and the customers we serve.

Expanding Representation at All Levels

Our efforts to expand representation span both our internal workforce and our external partnerships.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Growth of Employee Resource Groups

This past year ERG membership grew by 72%. We now have 8 ERGs with 38 global chapters. Active participation in our ERGs is one way we address the needs of underrepresented populations, and ensure all voices are heard. Our ERGs benefit from a strong allyship model where all employees are welcome to participate, learn and lend a hand – even if they don’t identify as a member of the underrepresented group.

Our Commitment to Equity

Micron is committed to providing equal salary to men and women in similar roles in all our worldwide locations. At the start of FY19, we invested $2.3 million in additional compensation to ensure less than a 1% difference in pay. We continue to prioritize salary equity and invest the funds needed to address gaps that may exist.

Better Benefits

We continually evolve programs, policies and resources to create and sustain an inclusive culture. This year we created a team member advocate role to help employees navigate topics spanning mental health, gender transition and returning to work after parental leave. Team member feedback spurred expansion of parental, military and bereavement leave benefits in the US. Micron continues to provide generous tuition reimbursement for team members pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Investing in Inclusive Leadership

True leaders recognize the value of an inclusive work environment and actively support diverse perspectives and backgrounds. During the past year, we developed a day long Inclusive Leadership curriculum to drive awareness, action and accountability. More than 700+ senior leaders will participate in the year ahead.

Diversity & Inclusion Week

Spanning 27 sites around the globe, Micron’s 2nd Annual D&I Week honored how our individual backgrounds, experiences and perspectives create a greater whole. Festivities included food, dance, art, film and culture. More than 226 recipes were compiled into Micron’s first ever cookbook.

Our Employee Resource Groups

Every day, more than 37,000 Micron team members collaborate across the globe, driving our business and making Micron a great place to work.

“Micron’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is clear. The employee resource groups give team members an opportunity for leadership development, technical learning and getting to know our diverse workforce.”
