Industry’s First HMC/FPGA Board Demonstrates Revolutionary Performance
Altera Corporation is the first to create a development board that demonstrates interoperability between our Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) and Altera’s Stratix® V field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
The demonstration board enables system designers to evaluate the benefits of HMC—like unprecedented bandwidth and power savings—which can be fully leveraged by high-performance FPGAs for next-generation communication and computing designs. To see a live demo, visit our booth at the Supercomputing Conference in November 2013.
What’s Next?
Samples of our HMC short-reach (SR) form factor are expected to be widely available in 2013 with volume production beginning in 2014.
The Arria 10 FPGAs and SOCs will be Altera’s first devices to support HMC in volume production; samples are expected to be available in early 2014.
