IBM Joins Forces With Micron to Optimize All-Flash Array

We’re excited to announce that Micron and IBM have formed a strategic collaboration that leverages and extends each company’s depth and breadth of flash storage capabilities. The proof: IBM’s introduction of the IBM FlashSystem™ V9000 and 900 arrays. They’re a new class of all-flash arrays, and they demonstrate the strength that a highly tuned, flash-optimized system can offer.

I had the chance to sit down with Mike Kuhn, VP of FlashSystem at IBM, to learn more about this collaboration. I asked him a few questions about the market trends driving all-flash adoption and a brief introduction to the FlashSystem portfolio. I was also able to gain some insight into why IBM selected Micron as their strategic supplier for flash solutions.
