A Bite of Science for Teachers in Virginia

The Micron Foundation is helping educators spark a passion in students for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by sponsoring the Center for Excellence in Education’s (CEE) upcoming Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP) event called “Bite of Science” on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

This exciting, cost free dinner event will be held at George Mason University and will bring together 25 high school science and humanities teachers to meet Dr. Alessandra Luchini from George Mason University and Senior Engineer Michael Frachel from Micron Technology, Inc.

Teachers will have the opportunity to hear Dr. Luchini and Mr. Frachel speak about cutting-edge research, view a laboratory demonstration if possible, and learn how to connect the research to the high school classroom and laboratory.

At Bite of Science, teachers will:

  • Be afforded the opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with a scientist and an engineer.
  • Be exposed to research techniques and strategies for trouble shooting in the laboratory.
  • Be able to network with like-minded peers.
