Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell recently announced members of the Governor's Commission on Higher Education Reform, Innovation and Investment. Micron Technology’s Virginia Site Director Raj Narasimhan was appointed as a member of the prestigious commission focused on promoting an environment in the state that fosters innovation.
“I am honored to serve on this important commission by Governor McDonnell,” said Narasimhan. “Micron’s success in Virginia is directly tied to our partnerships with Virginia’s higher education institutions. I look forward to working with the commission to enhance higher education in Virginia.”
The Commission will recommend a plan to make higher education more affordable and accessible to Virginia's students while keeping its standards high and continue the state’s reputation as a location choice for businesses. In addition, the commission will explore possibilities to foster public-private partnerships in university based research and ways to bolster science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.
