Earlier this week, Micron sponsored one of the prestigious Elektra Awards, a highly regarded prize for the European Electronics Industry, in the Product Innovation – Internet of Things category. The ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House in London on December 6.
Elektra Awards are evaluated by an independent panel of judges who assess the quality of all entries, and the winners are announced at the awards ceremony. This year, awards were hosted by radio and TV comedian Hal Cruttenden, who made the ceremony entertaining and fun.
Micron’s award was given to Microsemi Corporation for the AcuEdge Development Kit for the Alexa Voice Service, an application that, according to the judges, will be a big innovation in the IoT area. The award-winning application allows developers to integrate Alexa functionality into their products and enables voice control and speech recognition, both from a distance and in the presence of noise.
Micron’s Regional Sales Manager – Distribution Brian Purdom-Walker went on stage to give the award. Check out photos from the event and see our entry on page 44 in Electronics Weekly.
