Since 1990, the University of Michigan Solar Car Team has been designing, building, and racing America's best solar vehicles. With eight overall national championships and five consecutive wins, five top-three World finishes, and one international championship, they are America's No. 1 team! The team's legacy of excellence has been upheld over its history. This year, they celebrated their team's 25th anniversary of solar car racing with a fourth place finish within an hour of first place at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

“As a sponsor of the University of Michigan’s Solar Car, Micron is driving the next-generation automotive designers to find cost-effective ways to reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse-gas emissions that contribute to climate change,” said Edina Lee, University of Michigan Solar Car Team. “We appreciate Micron’s decision to sponsor us in delivering sustainable computing options for today’s consumers and for the future."

“Micron is committed to the development and use of green solutions—from the creation of energy-saving products for our customers to the sponsorship of green initiatives,” said Axel Schiller, marketing director of the automotive division at Micron. “We are proud to sponsor the University of Michigan’s state-of-the-art car that placed fourth in the 2015 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia."
