The Micron Foundation is proud to announce a $330,000 gift to the Discovery Center of Idaho, to support the Boise nonprofit in its mission to inspire lifelong interest and learning in science, technology, engineering and math for kids and adults. The donation reflects a shared commitment to sparking a passion for STEM and while also enriching the communities where Micron team members work and live.

The grant will help fund the complete renovation of the Discovery Center’s exhibit workshop. The renewed workshop will be named the Micron Innovation Exhibit Lab and provide a modernized setting for the center’s interactive exhibits, programming and visitor experience.

Discovery Center Executive Director Kristine Barney shared her gratitude and thoughts on the partnership: "When missions align and long-term partnerships form, incredible things happen. This incredibly generous investment launches our master plan for Discovery Center 2.0 by helping us improve our exhibits, facility, programming, and visitor experience."

Micron Foundation Executive Director Dee Mooney also shared her thoughts about what this means for the community and the Discovery Center: "More than ever, it will be a place capable of sparking a passion for science discovery, helping to inspire and develop the next-generation of engineers and scientists.”
