In nearly every community where our team members live and work, Micron actively supports programs and initiatives that help students gain a deeper understanding of the role science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) plays in everyday life and how it can be part of their future. In Virginia, a key community partner is NOVA SySTEMic Solutions, which recently profiled Steve Silberstein, our site director at Micron Technology Virginia.
Based in Northern Virginia, NOVA Systemic Solutions conducts several programs designed to inspire an interest in STEM fields, from robotics competitions to STEM camps to hands-on science lessons.
Through a longtime partnership, Systemic Solutions has successfully implemented several programs that started as Micron Foundation initiatives. Both organizations continue to work closely given our need to have a talented pipeline of future team members. As Steve notes in his profile:
“Our company’s success depends on our workforce -- that is the biggest asset we have. As a result, we focus on growing the next generation of scientists and engineers. Students are the future of technology.
They are the consumers, designers, innovators and fabricators of the next generation technologies.”
