  • Micron Boise Site
  • 2006 (November)  – Boise Certificate of Environmental Achievement Award
    Micron's Boise site received a Certificate of Environmental Achievement for recycling approximately 150,000 pounds of integrated circuit (IC) trays in 2006. R. Mitchel, Inc., a world leader in integrated circuit tray recycling, awarded Micron with this honor.

    Micron's recycling efforts not only benefit the environment, but reduce material and waste disposal costs.

    2005Pacific Northwest section of the American Water Works Association Award
    Micron’s Boise manufacturing facility earned this award for "Innovation and Commitment to Water Conservation."

    2003 (March) - American Society of Civil Engineers Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award
    Micron was selected as the winner of the Southern Idaho Section award and subsequently the Regional Northwest Award Winner based on its aquifer recharge and recovery project.

    2002 (August) - Idaho Innovator of the Year Award Winner
    Micron received this award from the Idaho Business Review, a weekly business publication, for development and implementation of an aquifer recharge, storage, and recovery system using ultra filtration membrane technology.

    1999 (June) - Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry (IACI) Annual Environmental Excellence Award
    Micron received this award as recognition from Idaho industries for achievement in pollution prevention, commitment to the environment, and a history of environmental leadership.

    1998 (September) - Boise EnviroGuard Award
    This award recognizes businesses that demonstrate outstanding efforts in environmental stewardship and pollution prevention, including water quality and conservation, source reduction, and recycling.

    1997 (September) -  EPA Evergreen Award
    The EPA Region 10 Evergreen Award recognizes companies that have a commitment to pollution prevention, a commitment to the environment, and a history of environmental leadership.

    "Companies that receive this Award for Pollution Prevention represent the leading edge of an enormous societal change. They are models of how American businesses can achieve economic prosperity while not jeopardizing the environmental quality of future generations," said Chuck Clarke, EPA Regional Administrator.

  • Micron Japan Site
  • Health:

    2000 (October) - Workplace with Excellence Safety & Health Performance Award
    Micron Japan was recognized by the chairman of the Hyogo Prefecture Labor Bureau as having one of the most superior healthy workplaces in Hyogo Prefecture.

    2006 (September) - Letter of Thanks for Blood Drives
    Micron Japan was recognized for their contributions to the Red Cross Blood Drives. The award was presented by the Hyogo Prefecture Branch of the Japanese Red Cross.

    Safety:

    2004 (September) - 7 Million Man-Hours without Labor Accidents Award
    Micron Japan was recognized for not having any labor accidents for 7 million man-hours. The award was presented by the Health, Labor, and Welfare Ministry.

    2004 - Workplace with Excellent Safety Performance
    Micron’s Japan site was recognized by the chairman of the Hyogo Federation of Labor Standards at the Hyogo Occupational Health and Safety convention for this honor.

  • Micron Virginia Site
  • 2008 -  Governor's Environmental Excellence Award for Best Environmental Program for a Large Manufacturer in Virginia
    Micron's Virginia site was honored at the highest level for this award, gold medal award and Governor's flag, for its successful implementation of an environmental management system, which ensures that best management practices and innovative technologies are deployed throughout the facility.

    2007 – Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (VEEP) Award
    Micron’s Virginia site is admitted into the highest level of this formal, statutory recognition program created by the Virginia legislature and administered by the Department of Environmental Quality to encourage and recognize superior performance through environmental management systems and pollution prevention.

    2005 -  Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards for Best Environmental Program for a Large Manufacturer in Virginia
    Micron’s Virginia site is a gold prize winner in the 10th anniversary of this award. Manufacturers earn this award by excelling in environmental management and achieving recognition that goes beyond compliance toward environmental stewardship.
