Introducing Three New Groundbreaking Mobile Technology Innovations from Micron Technology
Welcome to the electronic media kit for Micron Technology, Inc.'s latest mobile industry innovations. This site is designed to provide members of the media and analyst community important information about Micron's mobile innovations and serve as an online version of our media kit, including press releases and background material.
Commitment in a Changing Industry
The mobile industry is experiencing a convergence across the newly charted mobile middle ground between ultra-mobile PCs and highly functional, full-featured smart phones. This blurring of the technical lines is driving the demand for handset manufacturers to increase storage capacity and computing power to integrate additional features and applications into these next-generation devices–all while having to maintain a slim form factor design and consuming as little power as possible.
With the introduction of three exciting mobile technology innovations– 16GB All-in-One MCP, NANDcode software and solutions, and the 1Gb Low Power DDR2, Micron has unveiled its enhanced commitment to providing innovative technology and support to developers and manufacturers in the rapidly evolving mobile industry.

16GB All-in-One NAND MCP
Recognizing the demands for increased density and smaller form factor, Micron leveraged its leading 32 gigabit (Gb) 34-nanometer (nm) multi-level cell (MLC) NAND technology, to develop the industry’s highest density all-in-one NAND-based multi-chip package (MCP). The 16GB all-in-one MCP also stacks 8 die, offering handset manufacturers cutting edge memory-stacking solutions to design their high-density storage directly on-board, in a single package.

NANDcode Software and Solutions
Micron introduces a suite of NAND software solutions for mobile handset designers looking to simplify the development process of NAND technology into their applications. The NANDcode family of software solutions supports all major mobile operating systems including Windows Mobile® 6, Linux®, and Symbian®, and is optimized to derive the greatest benefit and full feature set of Micron’s ONFI-standard single-level cell (SLC) NAND technology. Aside from mobile applications, the NANDcode software is also designed to work with consumer applications, such as GPS systems, that leverage these popular mobile operating systems.
