Comments: A video production script follows a very strict format. The page is organized into two columns. The left-hand column contains descriptions of each scene. The right-hand column contains the words that the on-screen actors and/or voice-over announcer will say.

The writing styles for each column may be entirely different. The VIDEO column should contain minimal wording. The writer should use only those words that describe what the audience sees on the screen. Complete sentences are not necessary. In the AUDIO column, the writer has much more flexibility. Depending on the intent of the video, the style can be friendly and persuasive or more technical and informative. Whatever writing style is used, it should be conversational; that is, since a person will actually be saying it, it must sound natural, not stilted or too formal.
