Comments: Most companies have a suggestion “box” where employees are encouraged
to submit ideas that can benefit the company or can make life better for the
employees. For many years, Micron’s suggestion “box” has been electronic. All
employees have access to a computer program where they can submit suggestions.
When submitting suggestions in this program, employees must type a concise
description of the suggestion, a reason the suggestion is valuable, and a
plan for implementing the suggestion. Employees don’t speak directly to the
Suggestion Review Committee, so they must communicate their thoughts clearly,
concisely, and persuasively in writing.
In turn, the members of the Suggestion Review committee must communicate
clearly why the suggestion was either accepted or rejected.
