Job Description: Owns, operates, and manages rental properties. Oversees or does all maintenance and/or repairs on houses and property.
   


Problem:

You need to re-roof a house with composite shingles. Each side of the roof is 20 feet by 40 feet.

Each package of shingles covers 12 square feet (ft2) and costs $7 plus another $12 to have it put on the roof (for labor and other materials such as nails).

Solution:

1. 20 ft x 40 ft = 800 ft2 x 2 = 1600 ft2 roof
  1600 ft2 12 ft2 coverage/pkg = 133.3 or 134 packages of shingles
 
2. 134 packages x $7 per package = $938 for shingles
134 packages x $12 = $1608 for labor/materials
$938 + $1608 = $2546 roof installed
