Fab Engineer

As an Engineer in the Manufacturing Fabrication Department, you will be engaged in state-of-the-art processing and engineering. Fab Engineers at Micron are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving processes in diffusion, chemical vapor deposition, photolithography, wet etch, dry etch, parametrics, physical vapor deposition, chemical mechanical planarization, implant, or real-time defect analysis. In addition, you will be responsible to support and repair equipment and identify process and material improvements. Primary responsibilities include support of manufacturing goals to increase equipment "up time", statistical process control, and use of data analysis to understand area issues. You will be tasked to perform process enhancement by auditing process recipes, configuring hardware, analyzing procedural methods, reducing costs, and improving yield. Other responsibilities include identifying, understanding, and resolving production and defect issues, designing tests, assisting area technicians with routine maintenance, improving preventative maintenance procedures, optimizing overall tool performance, and communicating issues, projects, and procedural changes to engineering and production groups.

Qualified candidates will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong mechanical, electrical, and/or chemical aptitude. Semiconductor fabrication engineering experience or applied knowledge in a manufacturing environment is desirable. Exposure to Statistics is strongly preferred. Other preferred competencies include demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills, good time management skills, self motivation, computer knowledge used for documentation and analysis, ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, and strong PC skills (i.e. Word, Excel, JMP, Access, etc.).

Required Education: Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Product Engineer

Product Engineers take next generation semiconductor devices from the design stage to high volume production. Product responsibilities may include CMOS image sensors, DRAM, or Flash. Along with design, marketing, process, and manufacturing engineers, the Product Engineer introduces and develops new products and processes and optimizes manufacturing yields and cost reductions. Primary areas of responsibility include circuit debug at wafer and packaged part levels; device characterization for improved performance, operation, and testability; and identify device functionality/performance problems. Other areas of responsibility include electrical and physical failure analysis, timing analysis, implementation of new device qualifications, logic and electrical simulation, and yield evaluation/improvement. Responsible for working with Design and manufacturing to develop test programs and methodologies. Strong interface with Design, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance groups to ensure that new products come to market quickly, reliably, and profitably.

Good communication, leadership, problem solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Good working knowledge of transistor operation and CMOS circuit operation. Experience using the following tools is also a plus: Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, micro-probe stations, semiconductor parameter analyzers, Advantest memory testers, NextTest Maverick testers, EPRO memory cyclers, or HPL bitmappers. Scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.). Verilog VHDL, HSPICE, C/C++ programming, Visual studio, or MatLab.

Required Education: Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

Quality Assurance Engineer

As a QA / FA Engineer at Micron, you would evaluate production lots suspected of quality or reliability issues and ensures these devices are held until all concerns have been addressed. This includes assisting QA production personnel with device related problems as needed; analyzing and reporting on production and reliability failures and working with other departments to ensure corrective actions are implemented. The QA Engineer assists QA/FA technicians with electrical and physical analysis of reliability failures and customer returns and will identify the root cause of failure and respond with appropriate corrective actions. Position This position requires a basic understanding of semiconductor and memory devices. Understanding of semiconductor physics and CMOS/VLSI design and processing and/or testing is a plus. Good VAX and PC skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Probe/Wafer Sort Engineer

As a Wafer Sort Engineer in the Probe group at Micron, you will be working in a highly visible production support role interacting with all levels of engineering and production groups. In this position you will be responsible for developing wafer-level test strategies and programs, which includes setting up and supporting production test flows, redundancy analysis schemes, and conducting failure analysis reporting. Additionally, you will monitor device yields, failure and repair rates, optimize yields, and minimize costs for some of the semiconductor industry's most advanced products.

Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of semiconductor physics and CMOS VLSI design (testing and/or processing experience is a plus). This position requires that you have programming experience with C++ and Unix. You must also have good communication, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Required Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or a combination of related experience and education is required.

R&D Process Engineer

As an R&D Process Engineer at Micron, you will have the unique opportunity to directly contribute to the advancement of leading-edge semiconductor technology. In this position, you will support manufacturing processes and equipment in photolithography, diffusion, wet etch, dry etch, parametrics, chemical vapor deposition, chemical mechanical planarization, and real-time defect analysis. This is a hands-on position in a cleanroom environment requiring tool failure diagnostics and process optimization skills. In this capacity, you will support manufacturing goals to increase equipment up time, reduce costs, and improve yields. This position also requires that you respond to production issues and implement solutions; support existing processes; evaluate and procure new materials and equipment; and establish and maintain material supplier relationships. This includes identifying process and material improvements and developing intellectual properties.

Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of electrical, chemical, and/or mechanical processes. You must have excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong multi-tasking and strong PC skills (for example Word, Excel, JMP, and Access).

Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer at Micron, you will be working in a highly visible production support role interacting with all levels of engineering and production groups. In this position, you will be responsible for working with automated test equipment to support test program development, execution in production, and engineering analysis. In this capacity, you will develop and maintain production test programs and automated test equipment and qualify test software and hardware. Additionally, you will monitor device yields and failure/repair rates, optimize production yields, and minimize costs for some of the semiconductor industry's most advanced products.

Qualified candidates will have an understanding of semiconductor device physics and CMOS VLSI design (experience in testing and/or processing is a plus). This position requires that you have experience with C/C++, UNIX, DOS/Windows, electronics, and digital circuits. You must also have good communication, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Manufacturing Integration Engineer

As a member of the Manufacturing Integration Team, you will be responsible for facilitating production optimization through identification and communication of best practices world-wide, verifying gaps in competitiveness through external benchmarking, improving world-wide planning coordination and information flow, and assuring effective product loading strategies and optimizing capital effectiveness. You will also help to facilitate optimum utilization of world-wide manufacturing capacity through the creation of processes and methods for demand allocation and product assignment. This is done by coordinating effective product loading amongst manufacturing sites and helping to manage the decision making process. In addition, you will work closely with product business unit managers, production planners, facilities, and purchasing coordinators.

As a key contributor, you should be experienced with practical application of Industrial Engineering solutions to real-world problems. A strong understanding of capacity planning and scheduling concepts, optimization techniques, and business finance is required. Must be proficient with computer simulation software and linear programming, and have a working knowledge of database management methods and techniques including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access or SQL. Other desirable computer language experience include VBA, HTML/Java, C++. We are looking for a leader in innovation, critical thinking, goal setting and achievement, as well as someone who is adept at transferring knowledge and creating processes that can be easily adopted by others. This position requires the ability to travel.

Required Education: MS in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience required.

Design Engineer

As a Design Engineer at Micron, you will work with the design team using state of the art non-volatile technologies to develop DRAM memory, NAND-based Flash memory, or CMOS sensor-based products. In this position, you will work with state of the art VLSI technologies and use simulation tools to design, simulate, and verify memory arrays, sensing and amplification circuits, data paths, address and command decoding, control logic, and critical circuits. You will also collaborate with layout engineers throughout the chip development process to ensure that Micron produces state-of-the-art memory products in a cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for verifying and characterizing silicon using lab equipment and testers and propose innovative circuit solutions and design methodologies.

Qualified candidates will possess both theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics concept design, transistor level circuit design, memory chip architecture, schematic capture/layout editor tools, and computer chip layout design. In addition, the candidate should possess strong VLSI design techniques and must be skilled in using circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE, Verilog, Powermill and HSIM. You should have a solid knowledge in Integrated circuit layout rules and a thorough understanding of MOS and device physics. Other desirable qualities include self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to multi-task and work effectively in fast-paced environment. You must also demonstrate successful circuit design on IC products and have experience in validating on silicon using lab equipment.

Required Education: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
