a tour of
the facility. Todd House, Micron's
Government Relations Manager, and John Schafer, Facilities Engineer, conducted
the tour. Nicole Byfield helped facilitate the meeting.
Senators Tommy Norment, Ken Stolle, Walter Stosch and William Wampler traveled from
around the state to visit our premier 300mm site. These

First Candidate Forum Held at MTV
Micron Technology Virginia hosted its first candidate forum for team members
on Wednesday, October 3. The forum focused on the two candidates running for
the 29th State Senate district — incumbent Senator Chuck Colgan (D) and Bob
FitzSimmonds (R). Both candidates had the opportunity to discuss their reasons
for running and then answered questions from MTV team members. The question
and answer period covered a wide range of topics including education funding,
taxes, immigration, transportation and ways the state can keep manufacturing
competitive. John Haneklau, Safety Engineer commented, "I just wanted to say
thank you for giving us an opportunity to meet the candidates."
Absentee ballots were also discussed and available for team members. Absentee
ballots are a great way to vote without having to stand in line or fight traffic
on election day.
