Glen W. Hawk
Vice President of NAND Solutions
Glen Hawk is Vice President of NAND Solutions at Micron Technology. In addition to managing the innovative teams that develop Micron’s market-leading NAND Flash technology, Mr. Hawk oversees the development of integrated storage systems (SSDs) and appliances. Mr. Hawk joined Micron in May 2010 and, since then, the company has been honored UBM’s Semiconductor of the Year award for its industry-leading 20nm NAND, which was co-developed with Intel.
Mr. Hawk joined Micron from Numonyx, where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Embedded Business Group. Prior to Numonyx, Mr. Hawk worked at Intel, serving as the General Manager of the Flash Products Group. While at Intel, Mr. Hawk held a variety of positions, from engineering to marketing, and he helped negotiate the groundbreaking Flash agreement with Micron. Throughout his career at Intel, Mr. Hawk led and participated on teams that drove Flash storage architecture to new levels—a critical factor that enabled the world-wide revolution of full-featured wireless phones and other truly mobile products.
Mr. Hawk was the keynote speaker at the Flash Memory Summit in 2010, where he discussed “The Alchemy of NAND Flash.” He also delivered the keynote address at the Embedded Systems Conference in 2009 while working for Numonyx.
Mr. Hawk has 28 years of semiconductor industry experience—all focused on nonvolatile memory. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He currently lives with his family in Folsom, California.
